Land Development Approvals
The Planning District is responsible for guiding growth and development within member municipalities. Land Development is a broad term that includes activities that result in a change of land use, the construction or addition to a building(s), or the creation of a parcel of land. Development applications are assessed according to the proposal's compliance with the Development Plan, Secondary Plan (where applicable), and municipal Zoning By-law. Applications are approved or rejected by the appropriate approval authority based on the type of application.
